As part of a team, I helped develop an immersive touring concept for DEEL Academy’s “Empathic House.” This real-world living lab showcases ambient assisted living technologies designed to support people with dementia, built with the long-term goal of being easily replicated in standard residential streets.
Our goal was to design a way for visitors to learn about the home’s features. Our solution was an interactive audio experience that simulates the internal monologue of a person with dementia. By making the visitor the “resident” for the duration of the tour, we allowed them to experience firsthand how the house intuitively reacts, supports, and guides someone through their day.
